Title I/LAP Paraprofessional

LR Elementary School

6.75 hours per day x 180 days

 

  • DUTIES:

    • Prepares instructional materials.
    • Executes student behavioral management.
    • Works with students in groups or individually.
    • Engages in positive interaction with students.
    • Supervise students during recess/ lunch/ passing time.
    • Maintains records and files on a variety of subjects.
    • Helps teachers to address safety and physical needs of students.
    • Alerts teachers and other staff members of special needs of students.
    • Adapts classroom activities to the capabilities of students.
    • Assist with field trips, when required.
    • Receive students from bus, guardians etc.
    • Complies with established policies and procedures of the Grand Coulee Dam School District.
    • Possesses interpersonal, professional relationships with students.
    • Works collaboratively in a high stress environment.
    • Adheres to the daily schedule.
    • Has ability to work independently.

    • LANGUAGE SKILLS:

      Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write short correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and group settings. 

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

      Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute ratios, rates and percentages. Ability to interpret graphs. 

      REASONING ABILITY:

      Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in

      situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of

      instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

      OTHER DEMANDS: 

      Ability to work well with staff and the public, meet multiple demands from several people, develop effective relationships with staff, students and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of district and school board policies. Ability to manage time effectively.

      EDUCATION:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent
      • Ability to pass the Paraprofessional Test or an AA degree

       

      Mandatory Conditions of Employment:

      • Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check.
      • Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance
      • Completion of Federal I-9, Employment Verification Eligibility form

This position is SEBB eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance.

This Position is Retirement eligible through DRS.

This Position has sick leave, personal days
