Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the sport and appropriate coaching techniques.

Adhere to all Washington State laws and district policies regarding conduct between a teacher/coach and student-athlete.

Teach and model sportsmanship, respect, skill development, and healthy living.

Serve as a positive mentor and role model for student-athletes.

Promote academics as the first priority while providing the best possible opportunity for each student’s success.

Work cooperatively and professionally with other coaches, officials, administrators, parents, and community members.

Supervise assistant coaches (paid and unpaid) in coordination with the Athletic Director.

Follow all season opening and closing procedures as outlined by the Athletic Director.

Use sound, age-appropriate teaching practices aligned with professional standards for the sport.

Maintain compliance with WIAA coaching standards and provide required documentation to the Athletic Director.

Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification as required by WIAA and the District.

Refrain from disrespectful or unprofessional conduct toward players, parents, administrators, officials, community members, or media, including (but not limited to) foul language, improper dress, or inappropriate physical contact.

Plan and conduct well-organized, purposeful practice sessions.

Establish and consistently enforce team discipline standards.

Maintain accurate records of eligibility, attendance, discipline, and statistics.

Ensure all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements prior to participation in practices or competitions.

Refrain from the use of tobacco or alcohol at any time when student-athletes are present; violations may result in immediate dismissal.

Provide appropriate supervision before, during, and after practices, conditioning sessions, and competitions.

Ensure all students are safely picked up before leaving any facility.

Promote the athletic program to students, parents, the community, and media.

Report varsity scores to media outlets as directed by the Athletic Director.

Engage in ongoing professional development related to coaching techniques, rules updates, and instructional methods.

Collaborate with middle school and high school coaches to plan and align the overall sport program.

Compensation is based on the current extra-curricular salary schedule.
-
Must successfully pass a Washington State background check and fingerprinting.
