Qualifications
- Career Technical Education Teaching Credential is required which can be obtained two different ways;
- College and University Route
- Business and Industry Route
- Multiple endorsements preferred, such as manufacturing/machinist or other skilled trade.
- Must Pass a Washington State Background and Fingerprint Check
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials using community resources and alternative approaches to learning to teach students the knowledge
- Keep records of student attendance, provide feedback to students on their progress and development, and administer any pre or post course surveys
- Supplement the program with an appropriate learning environment enriched through the use of audio-visual aides, technology, special programs, auxiliary books and materials
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide a safe, healthy, orderly and productive classroom environment
- Participate in activities designed to promote professional growth
- Knowledge of: Principles, theories, practices, methods and techniques used in curriculum development and classroom instruction
- Classroom procedures, which promote appropriate student conduct and motivation for student learning
- Career and technical education principles, practices, techniques and procedures of assigned subject areas
- Applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Abilities to select appropriate materials and/or processes for different age, ability and functioning levels
- Communicate effectively and respectfully to students about their progress and development
- Employ observation techniques and classroom management techniques required to increase task behavior
- Maintain current knowledge of career and technical education practices and procedures, job-entry requirements and local employment outlook of assigned subject areas
- Interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Be flexible and receptive to change
- Validate experience with learning division needs, industry standards and practices, and workplace attitudes
- View learners as partners, and actively solicit student thinking and direction
- Salary Based on current CBA Agreement
